Important Details About Private Schools Uniforms
There are several school administrators that mandate their students on the proper student attire. Several academic institutions such as parochial, exclusive and military academies require the complete compliance of wearing private schools uniforms. The implementation has been around for many years, however, many have still debated on the effectiveness of these outfits.
There is a stark difference between a uniform and a dress code. While the former seeks oneness and equality among its student body, the latter promotes conformity to the norm by setting a list of acceptable clothing apparel.
Wearing a standardized outfit has its advantages. One can save money on clothing as students are required to wear a set of clothing items five days a week. It has also been noted that clique formation has been decreased since everyone wears the same clothes. Faculty and community members will be able to distinguish where a student studies by identifying their clothes. This way no intruders will be able to enter the academic institute without permission.
However, some argue that parents cannot save money. This is because tailors require a hefty sum for payment for these clothes and that additional budget is required to buy for after-school clothes.
Boys are required to wear collared shirts with ties and a trouser pants with a leather belt. Flat soled shoes are the regular footwear. No sneaker shoes are allowed. They can wear turtlenecks and sweaters under their blazers during winter months.
Female students must wear skirts that fit according to the standards set by the school. It can either be a solid color skirt or a plaid design. Jumper dresses are commonly worn among the younger girls. Tights and knee socks are mandatory. Collared shirts with ribbons and blazers or sweaters are required upper body clothing.
Some politicians believe that this kind of system of wearing private schools uniforms must also be implemented in public academies. In addition, teachers are wearing less stricter dress codes. A lot of people find it unfair that dress codes are not enforced on the faculty.
